Mermaid Gown

Senior prom. Also called the $15 dress.

Made of stretch velour, silk rayon, a pre-fabricated petticoat, zip ties, and buckram.

Closures were a zipper up the back, and whopper poppers to hold on the bow.

The Velour dress was free, as there was a rip along the entire center front. The silk that made the bow, sash, and tale was $8 from the thrift store. The Petticoat was $5 from the thrift store. The Zip-ties that made the halo were $2. Everything else in the garment was from much stash, so it is called the $15 dress.
